Our Stroke Unit is research active with a number of opportunities for stroke survivors and families to get involved.

PhEAST

The PhEAST study is looking at whether pharyngeal electrical stimulation improves swallowing in acute stroke dysphagia. Difficulties in swallowing (dysphagia) is common after stroke.

AVERT dose

The AVERT dose study is looking at testing different intervention regimens for mobility after stroke to find out which one is best.

PLORAS

The PLORAS study aims to provide patients with aphasia, a language disorder which can occur after a stroke, a prediction about the most likely course of recovery.
