Medical Physics Engineering carries out essential maintenance and development work on highly complex x-ray equipment required for patient diagnosis and radiotherapy. This work is essential for the provision of clinical services without which patient diagnosis and treatment would be subject to unacceptable delay and treatments compromised.
The Medical Physics Engineering service is provided to the Kent Oncology Centre, the Diagnostic Directorate and other departments as well as other NHS Trusts.
The instrument workshop also produces non-standard devices and prototypes for a variety of clinical users, both for patients and research and development projects.
