Please note: these exercises are to be completed only if advised by your doctor or physiotherapist. You should stop the exercises if they cause an increase in pain until you are seen in an orthopaedic, fracture or physiotherapy clinic.

Practice this sequence of movements five to ten times every two to three hours throughout each day until you have full movement. Hold each position for five seconds before moving on to the next position. Do the exercises with all the fingers on the affected hand and try to keep your thumb out of the way, especially if it is your index finger that is injured.
